Cedarbrae Collegiate Institute's Mission Statement
Cedarbrae Collegiate Institute, one of the largest facilities in the ÎÛÎÛÂþ», offers strong academic courses, unique and special programs, and an exceptional range of co-curricular activities. In meeting the needs of a diverse, multicultural community, we strive to foster mutual respect, to encourage participation, and to develop life skills.
The school also has a large Extended French and French Immersion program. A wide selection of courses and co-curricular activities are offered in French. Students participate successfully in speech and writing competitions in French. They also are involved in exchanges to locations in Europe in senior years.
Cedarbrae has a tradition of excellence in core subject areas, including Mathematics, English, Science, Languages, and Social Sciences. There is a complete range of business, and computer courses. We have a fine-arts program, including illustration, drawing and painting, desktop publishing. Dramatic arts, instrumental music, and vocal music, are also available. Co-op education is available in almost every subject in the school. Cedarbrae has both ESL and LEAP programs. Cedarbrae offers a variety of technological education opportunities. Cedarbrae currently runs a Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) in Construction and Business.
